Does anyone know of good source for finding interesting problems to implement as larger programming projects?

I think it would be for the fun of it. I guess that falls into the self-learning.

Make something you need or like to do. Thus your chances of completing the project will be much bigger.

I personally like to make videogames. Take a look here Three hundred game mechanics for some ideas. Or maybe some more wacky generated ideas from Game idea generator
