A computer is attached to the stereo in the lounge area of DIKU's canteen, which can be used to play music outside opening ours (after 17:00 on weekdays).

How do you upload music to the the music server and how do you control it? Are there any particular rules to follow?

The server is running MPD, so you can connect with any suitable client (e.g. ncmpcpp or Sonata) to the host hygge.local. There is also a web interface if you prefer that. Unless you connect using the web interface, you need to use the password hamster.

If you want to upload music, then you need an account, which a member of the canteen board can give you. This will give you a shell on the server, which you can use to login and place your music in the music folder in your home directory. On Linux you can use the scp command, and on Windows you can use WinSCP.

Your operating system needs to support Multicast DNS (mDNS). Enabling that depends on your operating system and it may already be enabled by default.

And while it is pretty funny to put on horrible music while you're not in the canteen, it's poor style, so don't do it. If you want to annoy people, suffer with them.
